Psychotherapeutic treatment of spastic cranks

Spastic crank is characterized by incorrect head position due to neck muscle spasm, can be accompanied by head tremor. Spastic Crank worsens the quality of life, leads to loss of ability to work, the development of fear, depression and pain. Crank in adults can begin between the ages of 30 and 60 years old. Women are sick more often than men. Wryneck develops gradually, sometimes the beginning may be sharp. From initial to expressed symptoms of the disease it takes about 5 years. Crank begins with unpleasant sensations in the cervix spine (mild pain and sensation stiffness, slight twitching of the head). These symptoms may appear and disappear at emotional excitement, walking, exercise. In some patients, muscle spasm captures neighboring area, additionally blepharospase occurs(eye frost), oromandibular dystonia (movement in the lower half of the face as involuntary opening or closing of the mouth), scribal spasm. Patients can control manifestations for some time diseases using special techniques: gestures - anthogonists or corrective gestures, such as touching with the hand of the head or neck, etc. These attempts to hide symptoms characteristic of dystonia. Most frequent masking gestures are a finger or hand touch on the bottom of the face in order to return the head to the normal median situation. Crank symptoms may worsen when walking, carrying weights, emotional stress.

Treatment of cranks.

The patient is prescribed antidepressants, muscle relaxants, injection administration of botululotoxin, physioprocedure, therapeutic exercise, surgical treatment (dissection and extension of the contracted neck muscle).

Psychotherapy of cranks.

Studying literature on the treatment of cranks I do not found reports of psychotherapy for cure this complex disease. My personal experience suggests that psychotherapeutic approach is very effective in treating this disease. The first cure of the disease occurred around 25 years ago. A sick girl of 20 years suffered from this disease for several months (head was turned to the left side). For her cure was enough 20 hypnotherapy sessions. The second case was about 3 months ago. Woman suffered from severe neck muscle strain and the inability to turn his head. In order to look some way, she had to rotate with the whole body. This condition was about 5 years. In the process of psychotherapy there was a characteristic episode, preceded by several sessions feeling of pulling the spine and neck, the episode itself characterized by a slight pull of the head up, and then a sudden sharp serial low-amplitude turning the head to the right and left. After exiting the hypnotic state of the patient reported significant improvement of well-being and reduction manifestations of crank. Outwardly, this resembled manipulation of a manual therapist, but more refined, instantaneous and more efficient. In fact, we can talk about that the patient's body itself has eliminated incorrect location of cervical vertebrae. Previously, I noticed similar behavior of the body in a patient who was treated for epilepsy. During the sessions, the patient reported that being in a hypnotic state felt like his spine was extended. At the end of psychotherapy sessions, he reported an improvement in posture (he used to go fasting and it was difficult for him to straighten his back, and after treating him the back itself cracked down). After 20 sessions, the patient got rid of wrynecks. In the treatment of this patient was used a combination of methods including - suggestion, hypnotherapy, pulse therapy, psychoresonance therapy, exposure to biofields, mental therapy, and warming up of biologically active points.
